Polygon Meme Coins and the Case for PAWLY

By Vadim, creator of PAWLY and POLTRACK. Published 7 October 2026. This is my account of the scene and the design choices behind my own token.

Polygon has produced memorable meme coins: PolyDoge, GOON and GONE each gave the chain a different kind of identity. Before launching PAWLY, I spent time looking at those projects and the launchpads around them. I liked parts of each, but none felt like the meme I wanted to build my own identity around.

For me, PAWLY is the best fit for Polygon's default meme: an original character for people who still believe in Polygon, with a direct launch and token mechanics anyone can inspect. That is my judgment as its creator. PAWLY is young; widespread adoption still has to be earned.

This article compares the identities, looks at what remains of the launchpad scene, and separates useful token data from impressive-looking numbers.

PolyDoge, GOON and GONE: three Polygon meme identities

PolyDoge: the Doge connection

PolyDoge's April 2021 introduction explicitly positioned it as Dogecoin on Polygon. The timing connected an established internet meme with the enthusiasm around Polygon during the MATIC era. Its launch article described a one-quadrillion initial supply, an initial token burn and liquidity on QuickSwap. PolyDoge's original introduction.

That makes PolyDoge an important reference point. It brought a familiar character into Polygon's culture. My hesitation is also about that familiarity: Doge already belongs to a much larger story. I wanted a character whose first association could be Polygon itself.

GOON: a Polygon community identity

GOON is more directly rooted in Polygon community language. Its own website describes the token as a mascot for the ecosystem and connects the name to the community being called Goons. The identity is deliberately loud and recognizable. GOON's official website.

That cultural connection is a strength. It just was not an identity I could personally inhabit. A meme can work for its community without being the character I want to build around for years.

GONE: making a joke out of the pain

GONE has an original, self-deprecating identity. Its website presents a community-created token intended to bring fun back to Polygon, with an airdrop reaching more than 20,000 wallets according to the project. GONE's official website.

What appeals to me is the ability to turn getting rekt into a shared joke. My own problem is that I have spent years being irrationally bullish on Polygon. I can laugh at its problems, but I want my meme's central identity to express that belief, too.

PolyDoge brought familiarity, GOON brought an ecosystem label, and GONE brought a distinctive sense of humor. PAWLY starts from a different emotional position: affection for the chain and a character I actually want to live with.

Are Polygon meme launchpads dead?

“Dead” is an easy word to use for a quiet scene. It is a poor substitute for checking what a platform still does. A website can remain online after new launches have dried up, and a contract can retain assets after the frontend stops being useful.

Wen Markets is the clearest example in this review. On 7 October, DeFiLlama reported approximately $2,798 in remaining TVL and zero measured fees over the preceding 24 hours, seven days and 30 days. Its fee adapter measures Wen's contract statistics, including trading and graduation activity. That supports the description of an economically quiet launchpad within that coverage; it does not establish that its contracts have shut down. Wen Markets data, fee adapter.

The Wen homepage loaded during the review, but its token catalog remained in a loading state. That observation is about the interface I could access, not proof that no tokens exist or that nobody else can use it.

Older, broader launch platforms require a different reading:

PlatformPolygon TVL reported on 7 OctoberWhat the number establishes
Wen Markets$2,798Residual value; the fee feed also reported zero in the measured 30-day window.
PinkSale$857,016Assets remain in Polygon contracts; this alone does not demonstrate fresh meme launches.
DxSale$65,487Remaining Polygon value, rather than a measure of current launch demand.
DexPad$11A very small reported Polygon footprint; insufficient evidence to declare the service closed.

These are Polygon-specific values from DeFiLlama's protocol dataset, retrieved on 7 October 2026. The platforms have different products and contract coverage. TVL may include presales, locks or other retained assets; it is not a count of active meme communities.

My conclusion is narrower than “everything is dead”: I did not find a launchpad in this review that I wanted PAWLY's identity or launch to depend on. A launchpad can deploy a token and organize a sale. It cannot decide what that token should mean to people. I built PAWLY directly, without a presale or a launchpad graduation process.

Comparing liquidity, holders, supply and burns

The useful comparison starts with the contract address and a named pool. A ticker alone can point to unrelated tokens. A large aggregate liquidity number can also include obscure pairs whose prices make the total look far larger than the market you could actually trade.

The table below uses one identified WPOL pool per token: QuickSwap V2 for PolyDoge, GOON and GONE, and Uniswap V3's 0.3% Genesis Pool for PAWLY. All four responses were retrieved from GeckoTerminal at approximately 08:43 UTC on 7 October 2026. It is a selected-pool snapshot, not an exhaustive ranking across exchanges.

Token / WPOL poolPool value24h volume24h swaps
PolyDoge$14,027$2,277349
GOON$3,580$11
GONE$4,938$2011
PAWLY$216,680$1,6716

PAWLY has the largest reported pool value among these four selected pools in this snapshot. PolyDoge has more volume and many more swaps. Neither observation establishes which token has the largest overall community or the best execution for a particular trade.

Pool value is not cash available to sellers. It includes both assets valued at a reference price. PAWLY's Genesis Pool holds much of its own supply in concentrated-liquidity positions, so its headline dollar value should especially not be read as dollar exit capacity. Price impact, active liquidity ranges and the WPOL reserve matter. Provider prices can also reflect different last-trade times, even when the responses are fetched together.

For the other metrics, the definitions matter just as much:

  • Holders: separate the pool, vesting contracts, treasuries and dust balances from ordinary wallets. An airdrop recipient count is a historical distribution fact, not a current count of engaged people.
  • Supply: distinguish the initial mint, the supply when trading began and today's total supply. “Circulating” can mean different things across providers; POLTRACK labels PAWLY's amount outside the pool and creator vesting as market float.
  • Burns: distinguish destruction of token supply from locking or burning liquidity ownership. PolyDoge describes an initial token burn; GONE's distribution describes burned LP; GOON advertises a future conditional burn. Those are different events, not interchangeable percentages. PolyDoge, GONE, GOON.

I have not put differently dated holder counts into a league table. The PAWLY snapshot below has an explicit block and includes protocol contracts. The other projects' explorers are linked at the end so their current balances and distributions can be checked separately.

Why I built PAWLY to be Polygon's default meme

PAWLY combines the identity I wanted with commitments that are visible in its contracts. That combination is why it is my default choice.

An original character for people who believe in Polygon

PAWLY begins with my own dog and a Polygon identity. It does not need Dogecoin's name recognition, a particular slang term or a joke about the ecosystem failing to explain its appeal. It can be playful while remaining openly attached to Polygon.

That is where I think PAWLY fits better: a character people can recognize, enjoy and keep using through more than one market cycle. The ambition is for “Polygon meme” to bring PAWLY to mind naturally. No foundation designation is required for people to choose a mascot, and no creator can declare that the choice has already been made by everyone.

A direct launch with 97% of the initial mint allocated to the pool

PAWLY's initial mint was 10 billion tokens. 9.7 billion, or 97%, went to the Genesis Pool allocation, rather than a presale. The original creator allocation was 300 million; 100 million were burned before trading, leaving 200 million, or 2% of the initial mint, for creator vesting. Market-launch supply was therefore 9.9 billion PAWLY.

The token has no callable post-deployment mint path. Native burns reduce its total supply. These are concrete design choices behind the pitch: the launch allocation and supply rules are inspectable, rather than something a buyer has to infer from a promotional chart. PAWLY token contract, supply dashboard.

Creator vesting measured in years

The 200 million creator allocation vests linearly from 25 October 2026 to 25 October 2033. The vesting contract cannot be revoked, accelerated or upgraded and sends releases to its fixed beneficiary, a 2-of-3 multisig. At the recorded 7 October snapshot, nothing was yet releasable.

Seven years is a deliberate commitment. It puts a long schedule in the contract rather than asking people to take a short-term promise on trust. As tokens vest, they can still be released and subsequently sold; the schedule limits access over time, not all future selling. Vesting contract, vesting dashboard.

Permanently locked launch positions, with visible fees

The three launch liquidity-position NFTs are held by a locker whose code has no position-withdrawal, liquidity-decrease or upgrade path. Fees can be collected, and the recipient and administrator are visible in the dashboard. The fee destination can change under that administration; “locked liquidity” does not mean every aspect of the project is outside human control.

This is a useful distinction. The launch positions cannot be removed through that locker, while the remaining controls and the actual pool reserves stay visible. Locker contract, liquidity dashboard.

Burns that can carry a permanent message

PAWLY's Burn & Inscribe feature lets someone destroy at least 25,000 PAWLY and attach a permanent message of up to 280 UTF-8 bytes. The V1 contract has no edit or upgrade path. The message becomes part of the token's public history, and the burn reduces supply.

That gives the meme a way to leave a mark beyond a social post. Burning is voluntary and provides no reward or claim on future value. The resulting message and supply reduction are the point. Inscription contract.

Public data alongside the character

POLTRACK publishes PAWLY's supply, pool reserves, market float, vesting, fee recipient, holders and burns. A mascot needs personality; a token also needs a way to check what is happening. PAWLY comes with both from the start.

These features do not make every individual mechanism unique. The case for PAWLY is their combination with its identity: an original Polygon character, direct distribution, a long creator schedule, permanent launch positions and public accounting. That is the package I wanted and the one I believe fits Polygon best.

PAWLY supply, holders and reserves on 7 October

The POLTRACK snapshot at Polygon block 95,103,836, timestamp 7 October 2026, 08:15:39 UTC, recorded:

MetricRecorded value
Market-launch supply9,900,000,000 PAWLY
Current total supply9,899,310,102.30 PAWLY
Native burns after market launch689,897.70 PAWLY
Creator allocation in vesting200,000,000 PAWLY
Creator allocation currently releasable0 PAWLY
Market float outside pool and creator vesting183,066,614.07 PAWLY
Addresses with a positive token balance, including contracts43
WPOL balance in the Genesis Pool53,175.16 WPOL

The 100 million burned before trading are already excluded from the 9.9 billion market-launch supply. They are not included again in the 689,897.70 figure. Market float is POLTRACK's defined measure, not a universal circulating-supply classification. The dashboard updates; this article's table is a dated snapshot.

At 43 holder addresses, PAWLY is still starting out. I am arguing from its design and identity today; wider adoption is what I want to build next.

Why PAWLY is paired with POL

I launched PAWLY against POL because I want its market to live in Polygon's native asset. WPOL is wrapped POL used by the pool. The relationship between the two price units is straightforward:

PAWLY/USD = PAWLY/POL × POL/USD.

If POL's dollar price increased thirtyfold and PAWLY maintained exactly the same price in POL, PAWLY's dollar price would also increase thirtyfold. That is conditional arithmetic, not a forecast. PAWLY's price in POL can fall, and the same relationship applies to other POL-paired assets.

The pairing expresses where I want PAWLY to belong. It does not create an entitlement to Polygon's growth or remove the need for people to want the meme itself.

I wanted Polygon's default meme to express belief in the ecosystem and give people an original character to rally around. PAWLY is the one I built for that role. That is why it is my first choice when someone asks which meme belongs to Polygon.

Sources and contract addresses

Token identities are taken from project materials, with these Polygon PoS addresses:

Historical project statements are linked beside the relevant passages. Pool figures use GeckoTerminal's Polygon PoS pool API for the four addresses linked in the comparison, retrieved together on 7 October. Launch-platform figures use DeFiLlama's Polygon chain TVL fields and its Wen fee feed. PAWLY's dated supply and ownership figures come from the POLTRACK block snapshot linked above; contract mechanics can be checked against the linked source code.

Frequently asked questions

What are the main Polygon meme coins discussed here?

This article discusses PolyDoge, GOON, GONE and PAWLY. It compares their identities and four selected WPOL pools rather than claiming to cover every Polygon meme coin or trading venue.

Why does the creator consider PAWLY the best default meme for Polygon?

The author's case is its original Polygon character, direct launch, 97% initial pool allocation, seven-year creator vesting, permanently locked launch positions and public supply and burn data. “Best” is his judgment about that combination; it is not an official Polygon designation or an established community-wide ranking.

Is PAWLY the official Polygon meme coin?

No official designation is claimed. PAWLY is an independently created token on Polygon PoS. This article argues for it as a default cultural choice, which wider adoption would still need to establish.

Are all Polygon meme launchpads closed?

The evidence reviewed does not establish that. Wen Markets showed residual TVL and zero fees in the measured 30-day window. Other launch platforms retained reported Polygon assets, but those balances alone do not prove current meme-launch activity or closure.

Does burning PAWLY guarantee a higher price?

No. Native burns permanently reduce total supply, but price also depends on demand, trading and liquidity. Burning a token or adding an inscription does not guarantee a return.
